Ancienne Boulangerie gite back

A peaceful haven in the heart of the old village

In bygone days, L’Ancienne Boulangerie provided bread for the old village of Montrelais. Far from the madding crowd, this gite has been restored as far as possible using ancient methods.

Bread oven montageThis is a well-equipped gite heated throughout (heating cost included) with thermostatically controlled radiators and the option of an open fire (wood provided on request) in the living room, which has a large flat screen satellite TV, a second TV for DVDs, wifi access, and a settee and two chairs, a modern kitchen with fan oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and deep freeze, plus all the necessary equipment, cutlery and crockery. The washing machine, tumble-drier and second fridge/freezer, plus all the cleaning equipment, are to be found in the adjacent roomy corridor.

The corridor leads to two double bedrooms one with a wardrobe, and the other with chest of drawers. There is a modern bathroom with step-in shower between the bedrooms.

The accommodation is all on one floor. All linen and towels are provided. A cot can be provided on request.

Outside area

There is a well laid-out, romantic and poetically designed garden with a south-facing Italian marble terrace and garden furniture, plus simple barbecue, two arbour seats where you can sit out on a mild summer evening, listening to the nightingales and frogs. The garden is enclosed so your children and pets should be safe to roam freely.

There are two (oldish) bikes available for use at the gite. Both dogs and cats are very welcome as long as their owners clean up the garden at the end of their stay!

There’s private, off-road parking right opposite.

The main TGV line from Nantes to Angers runs just 50 metres from the house between 0530 and 2300. A great place for train spotters. However, the total noise time for the passage for all the trains in 24 hours is about  7 minutes – we rarely notice the trains ourselves and guests have said the same. But we wouldn’t want you to book without being aware of this. If you’re unsure, please contact us for more info.
